Rail grinding !Based on the rail grinding purpose and grinding amount, rail grinding can be divided into three categories: pre-grinding, preventive grinding, and repair grinding:
(1) Pre-grinding is the grinding of new steel rails after laying on the track, with the aim of removing decarburization layers, eliminating unevenness of welds, and initial defects generated during transportation construction.
(2) Preventive grinding is the periodic polishing of steel rails, aimed at preventing the occurrence of surface defects on the rails, eliminating surface cracks that have already occurred, and extending the cycle of surface crack recurrence and development.
(3) Repairable grinding is the process of repairing damaged steel rails, with the aim of removing defects such as corrugation, scratches, burrs, and surface cracks from the surface of the rails.
